Job Description Supervises and evaluates Coding Specialists and Coding Consultants and the day to day functions of the Coding department. This position works closely with C&C Consultants and other billing staff to ensure the coding functions of SMG meet the goals and needs of the organization. The Coding Supervisor also provides training and consulting staff within the Swedish system.

Required qualifications: - National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders upon hire; or
- National Certified Coding Associate - American Health Information Management Association upon hire; or
- National Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association upon hire; or
- National Certified Coding Specialist - Physician - American Health Information Management Association upon hire; or
- National Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner - American Health Information Management Association upon hire; or
- National Certified Health Data Analyst - American Health Information Management Association upon hire; or
- National Registered Health Information Administrator - American Health Information Management Association upon hire; or
- National Registered Health Information Technician - American Health Information Management Association upon hire.
- 5 years ICD-9-CM and CPT coding experience performing clinic and hospital based inpatient and outpatient coding.
Preferred qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience:
- Equivalent years experience or completion of a certified coding program and 4-5 years related experience. Will consider applicants with relevant experience and applicable education.
- Previous supervisory experience or previous experience in a coding department with progressively more responsible work experience.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
