Job Title: School Physical Therapist (PT) - Crescent City, CA and Surrounding Areas

Are you a passionate and dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students? We have an exciting position available for a School Physical Therapist to join our team in Crescent City, CA, and surrounding areas.

Job Description:

As a School Physical Therapist, you will work closely with students, parents, educators, and healthcare professionals to assess, plan, and implement therapy interventions for students with physical disabilities or injuries. Your primary focus will be to enhance students' physical functioning, promote independence, and facilitate their active participation in educational activities. You will evaluate students, develop personalized treatment plans, and collaborate with the school team to ensure the implementation of appropriate accommodations and adaptations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' physical abilities, limitations, and needs
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results, IEP goals, and professional expertise
• Implement evidence-based therapy techniques to address students' mobility, strength, coordination, and balance
• Provide direct physical therapy services to students in individual and group settings
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the students' educational programs
• Recommend and assist in the acquisition of adaptive equipment or assistive technology devices as necessary
• Educate and train parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to facilitate students' physical development
• Document students' progress, maintain accurate records, and prepare progress reports as required
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and accommodations
• Stay current with advancements in pediatric physical therapy through professional development activities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
• Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in California
• Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply
• Knowledge of pediatric physical therapy techniques, assessments, and treatment approaches
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and colleagues
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Familiarity with special education laws and the IEP process is a plus
