Position Description


The Manager of Clinical and Translational Collaborations will play a pivotal role in supporting the groundbreaking research initiatives of the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) and Northwell Health (NH) affiliation. Our mission is to bridge the gap between scientific discoveries in the laboratory and their application in clinical settings, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

The Manager of Clinical and Translational Collaborations will oversee a diverse portfolio of inter-institutional efforts, including the transfer of clinical biospecimens and data, joint recruitment, affiliation events, and grant management.

Position Responsibilities


  • Serve as executive secretary for various affiliation committees.
  • Streamline and monitor processes for the acquisition and transfer of clinical biospecimens and data.
  • Liaise with NH administration to coordinate joint recruitment efforts.
  • Organize affiliation events facilitating interactions between CSHL scientists and NH clinicians.
  • Manage all aspects of affiliation grants and finances, including grant submission assistance, budget development, and financial oversight.
  • Audit invoices related to the affiliation to identify and resolve issues.
  • Facilitate onboarding of affiliation faculty and trainees in collaboration with HR.
  • Develop and manage CSHL-NH affiliation training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal documentation requirements.
  • Compile and analyze data on affiliation activities, generating reports as needed.
  • Build and maintain a database to track all affiliation activities.
  • Acquire a broad understanding of the affiliation's translational research pipeline and team responsibilities.
  • May involve travel between affiliate campuses.
  • Other duties as necessary.

Position Requirements


Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in health or biomedical science preferred.
Experience: Experience in academic or clinical research required. 5+ years of administrative management experience.
Skills: Exceptional communication and organizational skills required.
