We have been providing dependable time-critical delivery services for over 15 years. As a leader in our field, we provide logistics/courier services to hospital systems, medical foundations, pharmacies and laboratories.

ROLE: Lead Medical Courier Driver

We are looking for a seasoned vet to help drive our courier team forward. Join us to support our healthcare providers and enhance the well-being of patients in our community.

DETAILS ABOUT THE ROLE
The lead driver will help the local supervisor with scheduled coverage's, route planning, route diligence and other special projects as needed. A typical day may include running routes, some will include on demand order runs, and still others may include other special projects.The goal is to ensure the local fleet is managed properly to provide the best customer services we can - we want you to be a part in that.

The lead driver is paid a flat weekly rate in additions to any route/OD work completed. Service hours vary by demand.

Lead Driver Duties

1) In partnership with local supervisor, ensure local area is properly staffed (fleet staffing and deployment)
2) Provide feedback to supervisor about process improvements
3) Be an expert on all required processes and procedures
4) Help train new drivers on processes and support them as they get up to speed.
5) Covering all duties listed for courier driver below

Medical Courier Driver Job Duties Include

1) Safely and Accurately transport various parcel types including medical instruments, medical supplies, mail, documents, pharmaceuticals and specimen types (room temp, refrigerated, or frozen)
2) Maintain accurate records at all stop locations
3) Maintain proper chain-of-custody by using a paper manifest and/or Scanner/Mobile App for all stops, parcels, etc.
4) Follow all protocols for safely entering and exiting medical facilities
5) Follow protocol for handling medical parcels properly
6) Responsible for timely pick-up and delivery of all parcels (in accordance with customer requests)

Duties/Expectations

1) Responsible for maintaining a vehicle in good working condition.
2) Responsible for maintaining a valid driver’s license, declaration pages of insurance, and vehicle registration at all times.
3) Must understand and follow confidentiality rules and regulations.
4) Must be drug-free at all times due to customer requirements.
5) Must be clean and well-groomed and keep proper hygiene.
6) Must wear assigned customer uniform and ID badges during service hours (provided by the customer)
7) Responsible for reporting any issues or problems while working on any assigned routes/orders to dispatch and/or their supervisor immediately.
9) Perform outstanding, in person customer service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

- Professional driving experience (couriers, delivery routes, etc)
- Experience educating others on best practices (Preferred)
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Dependable and reliable
- General knowledge of the local area (roads, short-cuts, etc.)
- 21+ with valid driver license
- Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
- Own vehicle with valid registration and auto insurance that meets company requirements
- Pass background, health requirements and drug screening
