Title : Director of Billing and Coding-BH

Location : USA/Remote

Reports to : Division President

FLSA Classification : Exempt

Full-Time

Wage: $75,000 - $85,000

* Starting pay varies based on location and experience, in compliance with specific state wage regulations. Competitive rates tailored to your geography and expertise.

Position Overview:

The Director of Billing and Coding will lead a team of Auditors, QA, Charge Entry and Certified Coders in front end revenue cycle duties to ensure accuracy and standardization in the coding and billing process. The Director oversees all day to day operations of the billing and coding departments comprised of staff onshore and offshore. The ideal candidate has a thorough knowledge of Behavioral Health billing and coding in various states and both commercial and government payors. We are looking for exemplary leadership skills and vision, a commitment to professionalism, ability to thrive in a fast paced / high volume environment, and a passion for excellent client service.

The position requires an effective strategy working with staff, coding, and related software in order to process claims with a high standard of accuracy and efficiency. The Director plays a vital role within the company working alongside the Management Team to provide a premier coding and billing service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly provides upper management with revenue cycle status including reports, metrics, and internal goals
  • Regularly communicates with clients and client staff to resolve billing issues and concerns.
  • Communicates claim action needed information with accounts management team
  • Hires, trains, and motivates billing staff to meet their goals
  • Ensures billing, and coding teams adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Accesses billing software to analyze rejection reasons and communicate findings
  • Communicates billing/coding errors and completes resubmission request
  • Commits to providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism while working in a team environment to meet goals
  • Understands and complies with all HIPAA rules and regulations

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years high volume behavioral health billing experience
  • Prior department and staff management onshore and offshore
  • Proficiency with Collaborate MD and KIPU EMR
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
  • Commitment to excellent client service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products
